Megan & Oakley (New Orleans, LA)
Before finding Jackie, I was at my wits end with my dog’s separation anxiety. We trained diligently with another wonderful trainer for several months and after deciding to take over training on my own, and facing several regressions over the span of a year, I turned to Jackie for help and a fresh perspective. I found Believe in Your Dog through social media, and I loved her expert, no nonsense, compassionate approach to dealing with separation anxiety. We consulted with Jackie twice via zoom and it was worth every penny and then some. I was most impressed with the fact that she was not only concerned about my dog’s well-being, but she also showed an incredible amount of empathy towards me. She was able to adjust our training plan to be less taxing on both me and Oak, while also helping us achieve the results we were looking for. Without a doubt, the thing that I valued most about working with Jackie was her suggestion that medication was necessary in addition to training. My dog has other medical issues which make me very nervous to try meds, and while Jackie was sympathetic to this, she was adamant that he may not be able to fully recover without it. It was because of her that I was brave enough to give Prozac/Reconcile a chance. Wouldn’t you know that meds were the last piece of the puzzle that allowed us to finally cross the finish line of our separation anxiety journey. Jackie has changed Oakley’s life because he’s no longer chronically stressed, and I have been able to resume life as almost normal . I believe in all of the progress we made and I am able to leave him for 3.5 hours without worry now. I can’t believe I almost gave up, but thanks to our foundational training and Jackie we did it!Thank you Jackie for caring so deeply about dogs with separation anxiety and their guardians! We are forever grateful!
